The Mac Observer reports: "The consumer technology research company, The Duffusion Group, reports the demand for time-shifted digital audio files, or 'podcasts', is expected to grow from less than 15% of portable digital music player owners in 2004 to 75% by 2010. TDG's report suggests that between 2004 and 2010, the use of podcasting among U.S. consumers will enjoy a compound annual growth rate of 101%."

Conference organisers are selling complete conference content on pre-loaded iPod Nano’s.
Many corporations are issuing pre-loaded mp3's with their corporate message already loaded. It has not only become a very effective business promotion but also a lucrative way to sell information.
The facility also exists to sell future editions of the podcast to owners of the pre-loaded player thus keeping your message fresh and in the memory of the audience.
